Zone 9 — Kuwalji Hyena Territory Safari Guide

Zone 9 (Kuwalji) is Ranthambore's striped hyena stronghold — a gypsy-only buffer zone with very low vehicle pressure and a true wilderness atmosphere.

Terrain and wildlife

Scrub, grassland, and scattered waterholes. Striped hyenas more frequently encountered here than in core zones. Dawn drives produce the best carnivore activity. Occasional tiger and leopard presence.
