Summer Sightings Peak At Lakes (April–June)

From April to June, rising temperatures — often exceeding 40°C — drive Ranthambore's wildlife to the last remaining water sources. This creates the year's most dramatic and predictable sightings.

Where animals congregate

• Padam Talab (Zone 1) — tigers, crocodiles, deer, birds
• Malik Talab (Zone 2) — tigers, storks, kingfishers
• Rajbagh lake complex (Zones 2–3) — Riddhi's territory, multi-species activity
• Scattered waterholes in zones 5, 8, and 10

Safari strategy for summer

• Afternoon slots (from 3:00 PM) often outperform mornings for waterhole activity
• Carry 2 litres of water per person, hat, and SPF 50+
• Light cotton clothing in neutral colours (khaki, olive, brown)
• Sighting success rates of 70–80% over 4 safaris reported by experienced operators

The park remains open until 30 June before monsoon closure on 1 July.
