A mugger crocodile (Crocodylus palustris) was seen basking on lakeside rocks at Padam Talab during the morning circuit — a routine but striking sighting in Zone 1's open lake habitat.

Mugger crocodiles of 3+ metres are regularly recorded at Padam Talab. They share the banks with deer, birds, and tigers during the April–June waterhole season.
