Indian Pitta Calling In Kachida Valley, Zone 4

The distinctive "wheet-tieu" call of Indian pitta (Pitta brachyura) was heard in the mixed forest of Zone 4 (Kachida Valley) during a pre-monsoon morning safari.

Indian pitta are among Ranthambore's most sought-after forest birds — brilliantly coloured but notoriously difficult to see. May and June are peak calling season before monsoon closure (1 July). Zone 4's varied terrain supports pitta alongside leopards and sloth bears.

Zone: 4 | Season: May–June birding
