Only 14 Jeeps are permitted to go inside the Park at any one
time. This has been done to avoid over crowding inside the Park.
As a result, there is a huge demand for such vehicles and it is
not easy at all to book them. They can not be booked in advance
and so there are no guarantees that you would get one. The best
that we can do is try real hard.
At the time off booking of jeeps, the entire entry fees have to
be paid to the forest department (a Government body. In case of
cancellations, the forest department does not offer any refund.
Seats on the safari bus (Canter) are not booked in advance and
visitors can request for these on arrival at Ranthambhore.
There is no fee for still cameras. For video cameras, one has to
pay an entry fee of Rs 200 for every visit.
The rate for the jeeps is for hiring the vehicle (for 1-4
persons).
The rate for the canter is on a per person basis.
There are two safaris every day, the above rates are per safari.
Important:
The above rates are from the last season (October
2004 to June 2005). The rates for the coming season (October
2005 to June 2006) have not been fixed by the Tourism Department
of the Government of Rajasthan, as yet. The new rates are
expected to be higher than last season’s.
